FAQs

  • Permanent makeup is best thought of as a soft, long-wearing cosmetic tattoo rather than something truly permanent. Most clients enjoy their results for 1–3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and skincare habits. Oily skin, frequent exfoliation, and sun exposure can cause pigment to fade more quickly. Many clients choose a color refresh annually to maintain the shape and softness.

  • Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the process is. A topical anesthetic is used throughout the appointment to keep you as comfortable as possible. You may feel light scratching or pressure, but the treatment is generally very tolerable.

    • If you have reference or inspiration pictures, please feel free to being them to your procedure along with a pencil, powder or product  you’re currently using.

    • Brow Clients - It is recommended you come to your appointment with your brows grown out, no need to have them cleaned up before! We prefer to see how they’ll grow naturally, and will clean them up for you at your appointment. If you need to clean them up beforehand, please do so at least 2 weeks before your appointment. If you routinely tint your brows, you will need to do so at least 72 hrs before your appointment.

    • No laser or any other corrective skin services around the area we will be treating.  This applies for two weeks prior to your procedure, and also two weeks after.

    • As long as permitted by your doctor, avoid taking any medication that will thin the blood 48 hours prior to your appointment( I.E. asprin, ibuprofen, fish oil).

    • Avoid alcohol and caffeine within 24 hours of your appointment. Doing so increases blood flow and can negatively affect your healed results.

    • Aside from daily cleansing, you MUST avoid humidity and moisture on your brows for 7 days as you heal.

    • Lip Blushing Clients - If you’ve experienced a cold sore in the past please begin prescription antiviral ahead of your appointment. Lip blushing can trigger an outbreak.

  • Lemon & Lush is an private studio space designed for a 1:1 experience. To ensure the best results and everyone’s safety, additional friends or family are discouraged. As we are considered a “body art establishment”, no one under 18 will be permitted.

  • As techniques, technology and pigments have evolved, the cosmetic tattoo industry has progressed from what it was by leaps and bounds, even just within the last 5 years. At Lemon & Lush, only the highest quality pigments, products, techniques and equipment are used to ensure the most realistic and natural results. As these are considered “semi-permanent” tattoos, we are only hitting the very top layer of the skin. Because of this, the most color will simply fade into the skin over time, rather than turning an off-color or migrating, as with older style PMU. Because this tattoo is so superficial in the skin, you won’t need to commit to this brow shape for life!

  • To keep your results flawless and ensure proper healing, follow these aftercare steps closely:

    1. Keep it Clean, Keep it Dry:

For the first 48 hours, avoid humidity and getting the treated area wet. Afterward, gently cleanse the area with provided aftercare products—no friction

    2. Moisturize Gently:

Apply the aftercare ointment sparingly once a day with clean hands or a cotton swab. Less is more!

    3. Avoid Sun, Steam, and Sweat and humidity:

For 7 days, stay out of direct sunlight, avoid saunas, and skip the gym to prevent irritation or fading. Also, avoid tanning beds and sunscreen on the area until fully healed.

    4. Avoid Picking or Scratching:

Flaking or scabbing is normal. As tempting as it is, let the skin heal naturally—no touching or picking at it!

    5. Hands Off the Beauty:

Avoid touching the treated area with your fingers unless applying ointment. Let the pigment settle in without interference.

    6. Hold Off on Makeup:

Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for at least 7 days to prevent infection or uneven healing.

    7. Healing Timeline:

Lips and brows are typically healed (superficially) within a week. Expect the area to soften and fade over the next 4-6 weeks. Touch-ups are needed to perfect your look, so don’t worry if the color lightens or spots appear.

    8. Sleep on your back:

Try to sleep on your back to avoid rubbing the treated area on your pillow. You may also want to use a fresh pillowcase for the first few nights.

    9. Stay Patient:

Full healing takes up to 4-6 weeks. You’ll notice the color adjust during this time, but this is completely normal!

By following these aftercare tips, you’ll maintain vibrant, long-lasting results!

  • Many clients find they need much less makeup. Some still like to add a little brow pencil or lipstick when dressing up, but the shape, symmetry, and color are already in place.

  • Immediately after treatment, the pigment appears more defined and saturated. As the skin heals, the color softens and lightens by approximately 30–50%.

  • Most clients require two sessions: the initial appointment and a perfecting session about 6–8 weeks later. Some skin types may need additional sessions.

  • Your perfecting session should be scheduled approximately 6–8 weeks after your initial appointment, once the skin has healed fully.

  • If you have existing pigment, please send clear photos before booking so I can determine whether you are a candidate for a color correction, refresh, or removal.

  • Initial appointments typically take 3 1/2 hours, depending on the service and the complexity of the work.

  • Surface healing generally takes 7–10 days, while the pigment continues to settle and soften over 4–6 weeks.

  • If you’re unsure whether nano brows, lip blush, or another service is best for you, feel free to send photos or schedule a consultation. I’m happy to guide you.
